There are many ways to participate! You can sing with the choir or volunteer your time on the Board, behind the scenes (production, stage management) or help the front of house at concerts and events (usher, box office) or apply for our Scholarships.
Do you like to sing? Sing with us! The Bach Elgar Choir holds annual auditions of singers for all sections of the choir. We are looking for dedicated, enthusiastic people to join our organization for a rare opportunity to perform some of the greatest choral music ever written. Help us present both exciting and artistically fulfilling concerts, as we have done for more than a century.
Our Artistic Director, Alexander Cann holds auditions for the upcoming season in September each year.
Alexander would like you to prepare a song of your choice in a classical or folk style and would be grateful if you could bring 2 copies of the music. He will provide piano accompaniment if desired. He may also ask you to do a small amount of sight reading to assess your range and determine your ideal placement. Auditions will be held at Melrose United Church.
Auditions will be held at Melrose United Church (www.melroseunited.ca), which is also where we hold practices. The street address is 86 Homewood Avenue, but the church faces Locke Street and the parking lot is off Stanley Avenue.
